I remember the first time I met Laura Reed in Tuscaloosa, AL.  She was playing at the Mellow Mushroom across the street from my coffeehouse.  I knew that I needed to get her in to play a pre-show the next time she was in town and sure enough we were able to work it out.

I remember her live show back then was one of the best that I’d seen and her music was so real and personal but also provided a fun, energetic party.  After coming back through Tuscaloosa a few times I could tell that she was growing a huge fan base.

After several months went by before she played Tuscaloosa again, I checked her site and saw her tour calendar had a 2nd and 3rd page.  I figured the next time I would see her play a show I would be driving to Birmingham or Atlanta.

She ended though getting married, having a child and taking a slight hiatus.  About 3 years went by and I had moved to Nashville already when on my Facebook feed, a new invite popped up to see a show featuring Laura Reed.  Then I ran into her out one night and she informs me that she’s coming back big time.

While I’m hoping to work with her as part of her team but whatever happens there I’m just glad to have her back and making music.  Here’s a snippet of one of her new songs:
